Privacy Policy

Last updated June 27, 2026

Decize is a private decision journal. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to make only promises we can keep.

Who we are

Decize (“Decize,” “we,” “us”) is a values-based decision journal, currently operated by the Decize team. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at support@decize.app.

What we collect

Account

Your email address, a password (hashed by our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text), and a unique account identifier.

Profile (optional)

A display name and avatar, plus any optional details you choose to add, such as age, gender, profession, city, or country.

Your decisions and reflections

The heart of Decize. This includes the decisions you log (title, description, your thinking, options, outcomes, lessons, and tags), the values and goals you select, the signals you choose to capture (mood, gut feeling, confidence, expected and actual impact), and any reflections, reminders, or follow-ups you add.

Attachments

Images, voice memos, or documents you attach to a decision.

Usage activity

A private, in-app activity log tied to your account (for example, when a decision is created, decided, or reviewed) so the app can show you your history and help keep your account secure.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site cookies. We don’t buy data about you, and we don’t build advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies — chiefly the secure session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no cross-site tracking.

How we use your data

  • To run the app — store, display, and sync the decisions you create.
  • To generate the AI analysis and “similar decisions” recall you ask for.
  • To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
  • To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your data, and we don’t show you ads.

AI processing

Decize’s analysis and “similar decisions” recall are powered by third-party AI providers. When you ask Decize to analyze or learn from a decision, we send the content that feature needs — typically the decision’s title, the values you’ve chosen, and short summaries of your most related past decisions — to those providers. We also send decision text to an embedding provider to build the private index that powers recall. We send what a feature needs, not your whole account.

Being honest:we can’t currently promise these providers never use inputs to improve their own models. Until we have a verified no-training agreement in place and can name the provider here, please don’t put anything in a decision that you wouldn’t be comfortable sharing with a third-party AI service.

Where your data lives, and who can see it

  • Hosting. Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase (a Postgres database and file storage).
  • Account isolation.Every record is scoped to your account with database row-level security, so other users can’t read your data.
  • Our own access is content-blind. The internal tools we use to operate Decize expose only metadata — counts, status, timestamps, and profile fields. They do not expose the text of your decisions, reflections, or insights.
  • Service providers. We share data only with the providers that make Decize work: our hosting provider (Supabase) and the AI and embedding providers that power analysis and recall. We don’t share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

For more on how we protect your data, see our Security page.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so the app can show you your history.

  • Export. You can export any decision to a portable Markdown file at any time.
  • Edit and delete. You can edit or delete any decision yourself. Deleting a decision permanently removes its related data too — options, reflections, reminders, follow-ups, and attachments.
  • Delete your account. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email support@decize.appand we’ll take care of it. (We don’t yet have a one-click account-deletion button in the app.)

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these in the app directly; for anything else, email support@decize.appand we’ll help.

Children

Decize isn’t intended for children. You must be at least 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use it.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If a change is significant, we’ll give you notice in the app.
